Artists invited to be part of new Hartlepool exhibition inspired by the General Strike.
Hartlepool gallery owners are inviting artists to take part in a forthcoming new show.
Hartlepool Borough Council is seeking ideas for a display examining the theme of resilience, which will take place at Hartlepool Art Gallery between May and June.
Inspired by the 100th anniversary of the General Strike, the exhibition aims to celebrate resilience in all of its forms, including personal survival in the face of adversity, community bonding, environmental adaptation, and psychological healing.
One lucky artist will also have the opportunity to conduct their own solo show later.
The spring exhibition is available to artists aged 18 and over who have a connection to Hartlepool.
Artwork can be in any medium that can be wall-mounted and was created within the last two years.
Cllr Karen Oliver continued: “Hartlepool has a proud history of resilience and we’re looking for artworks that explore and capture endurance, adaptation and strength in the face of challenge.”
