Debbie Davis, a resident, initiated the petition on the Change.org website last Friday (February 6). It had over 80 signatures at the time of writing.

Mrs Davis stated that the community was concerned about the vans, especially those at the junction, because some of them overlooked Carden Primary School and the Nautical Training Corps (NTC) base TS Zealous. She added:

“There is also growing worry over the amount of human waste found in and around the park area.

“As one worried citizen pointed out, unless someone has trained their dog to use toilet paper, it is human waste. According to residents, one of the vehicles always has a generator running.

They met with Patcham and Hollingbury ward councillors Cllr Meadows and fellow Conservative councillor Alistair McNair after receiving a court order to transfer one of the vehicles on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
