Two hotel sites for sale in Birmingham and Glasgow city centres – full details.
A large hotel construction site in Birmingham’s city center is for sale. Enterprise Hotels & Hospitality is selling a freehold site in Birmingham with planning consent for a 227-bedroom hotel for £2 million.
This facility is located on Hill Street, opposite the Grand Central shopping centre, and is adjacent to Birmingham’s New Street Station, the UK’s busiest station outside of London, with over 30 million passengers per year.
A freehold site in Glasgow, with planning approval for a 276-bedroom hotel, is also for sale for £4 million.
This is located at the abandoned Dale House building on West George Street, near Glasgow Queen Street Station, which was once used by the Royal Bank of Scotland as a cash-counting and storage facility.
Enterprise Hotels & Hospitality is selling both construction sites on behalf of the Arora Group, which acquired Bloc Hotels in July 2025.
Arora said both locations are “non-core” to its future plans and can be purchased separately or jointly.
Gavin Wright, founder of Enterprise Hotels & Hospitality, stated:
“These two development sites (together with a separate hotel in Glasgow) are both in outstanding locations and represent valuable potential in both city centres.
“In Birmingham, the development site sits opposite the southern entrance of the Grand Central Shopping Centre and will become a major landmark on the city’s skyline, towering 22 stories.
The present permit allows for 189 standard bedrooms, 27 apartment-style bedrooms, and 11 accessible bedrooms spread across a gross interior space of 6,044 square metres.

“Grand Central is located in the city’s retail hub and connects to the Bullring Shopping Centre, making it one of Europe’s most successful retail and culinary attractions.
“The site is also surrounded by a diverse range of food, beverage, and other retail outlets, and it is within walking distance of major attractions such as the O2 Academy and The Mailbox.”
