Pictures show firefighters repair a building as fallen debris lead to Sheffield street’s closure.

Firefighters are trying to fix a building after structural difficulties resulted in falling debris.
Around 4.20pm today (March 24), firefighters and police officials were spotted sealing down Boston Street, near London Road and the Sharrow area of Sheffield.
Firefighters have placed tape between bollards to divert pedestrians away from the area.
Emergency personnel are responding to a structural concern with a structure on nearby Beeley Street.
According to the fire department, the issue has resulted in debris falling from the building, causing damage.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue stated, “We have one fire engine and a turntable ladder on the scene.”
“Some rubble from a building fell onto the road, causing damage.
“Firefighters are currently working to make the scene safe.”
First Bus has announced that the 56 route would be diverted owing to the current situation.

A representative for the public transport provider added: “Due to a fire service closure on Boston Street, outgoing services will be diverted to London Road and Sharrow Lane.

Inbound services are diverted via Washington Street, Summerfield Street, Ecclesall Road, and St Marys Gate.

 

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
