Dundee man convicted of series of sex attacks on women.

A man has been convicted of a series of sex attacks on women in Dundee over a two-year period.

Alexander Steven was convicted guilty of several sexual offences, including rape and attempted rape, at Edinburgh’s High Court on Wednesday.

The incidents occurred in Dundee between October 2020 and December 2022, and detectives began an inquiry into the 52-year-old in January 2023.

A woman came forward to report a non-recent rape, and a thorough investigation revealed four more victims of the serial perpetrator.

Detective Inspector Craig Ross stated, “Alexander Steven is a calculating and violent sexual predator who targeted a number of women over a two-year period.”

“His attitude was horrible, and he will now face the repercussions of his decisions. “The fact that he was convicted today is a great testament to the ladies who came forward to the police.

“I hope this conviction gives others who may have had similar experiences the confidence to come forward, knowing that we will thoroughly investigate.” “I want to ensure anyone who comes forward that they will be heard and supported throughout

.”Should you wish to report a sexual crime to Police Scotland, then please do so by contacting officers on 101, or by making an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
