Mum and 2 daughters battered woman outside Accrington club.
A mother and her two daughters attacked another woman during a night out in Accrington.
Blackburn Magistrates’ Court was shown CCTV footage showing the three ladies continuously punching and kicking the victim as she was on the floor on June 7.
District Judge Alexandra Preston expressed surprise that the older woman was out on the street at 5.10 a.m., involved in a drunken brawl.
“It seems astonishing that you were out with your daughters at that time in the morning, in a drunken state and behaving in this way,” District Judge Preston told them.
Caroline Ward, 46, of Exchange Street, Accrington, Rianna O’Connor, 20, of Peronne Crescent, Blackburn, and Macey-Mae O’Connor, 23, of Facit Fold, Whitworth, each pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.
Ward received an 18-month community order that included a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a nine-month alcohol treatment requirement. She was fined £200, plus £85 in costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
Rianna O’Connor, the youngest of the bunch, was given an 18-month community order that included a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a six-month mental health treatment requirement.
She was fined £100, plus £85 in costs and a £40 victim surcharge. Macey-Mae O’Connor was also subject to an 18-month community order that included a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement. She was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
Kate Moore, the prosecutor, stated that the victim declined to give police a statement after the attack.
Ms Moore claimed that when interviewed, Rianna O’Connor stated that the other woman had been attempting to instigate fights all night.
Daniel Frazer, who was defending himself, stated that all of his customers had a history of good behaviour. He supplied CCTV footage showing the victim yanking Ward’s hair, claiming it was the preamble to the attack.
“Throughout this night out there seems to have been an issue with the victim wanting to engage with my clients,” Mr.
Frazer commented. “They went to separate pubs to isolate themselves from her. “It all came to a head outside the Warner Arms, where their conduct were completely unacceptable.
“They acted as a pack and were out of control.” The incident took place outside Dodge nightclub, across the street from the Warner Arms.
Mr Frazer claimed his clients’ emotions had gotten the better of them.
“The daughters saw their mum being grabbed and they reacted to that,” according to Mr Frazer. “You have watched the two minutes of violence that followed.”
