Train disruption between Dundee and Aberdeen after ‘operational incident’.

The incident between Dundee and Broughty Ferry has disrupted northbound services.

Northbound trains between Dundee and Aberdeen have been cancelled or delayed as a result of an earlier incident.

ScotRail blamed the disruption on a previous “operational incident” between Dundee and Broughty Ferry. The disruption is likely to remain until at least 10 p.m. on Monday, after the queue reopened shortly after 8 p.m.

The operator has informed customers that trains from Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street will terminate at Dundee or Perth while the situation is continuing.

ScotRail stated in an earlier update at 6.07pm: “Due to an operational fault between Dundee and Broughty Ferry, services from Dundee to Aberdeen are unable to run in that direction.

Services from Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen and from Edinburgh to Aberdeen will end in Perth or Dundee. The nature of the incident has not been determined.

Stagecoach buses between Dundee and Montrose take rail tickets, as do Scottish Citylink coaches between Dundee and Aberdeen.
