Police are looking into a “report concerning the behaviour of a man” from Saturday night. A Dundee woman says she was “petrified” after a taxi driver reportedly trapped her in his car and demanded sex.
Marika Jedraszak, 29, was taking a taxi from Lochee to Stobswell when the alleged incident occurred on Saturday night. Marika told The Courier that the driver confined her in his vehicle for roughly four minutes and made unwanted comments and sexual advances towards her.
She wants to share her tale to warn other women and is now thinking about “driving everywhere”. The incident has been reported to police, who are currently investigating. The taxi company where the driver worked verified that he had been suspended.
‘I’ve never felt this unsafe before’
Marika stated, “He shut the door right at the conclusion of the voyage, but I had already paid for my cab before getting in it. “He offered to open it if I let him into the house and we had sex.
“I told them, ‘If you don’t let me out, I’ll start screaming and call the cops and the taxi company.'” “He ultimately unlocked the doors, and he was upset about something, but I was only concerned with going into the house.
“I’ve lived in Dundee for 19 years and have never felt unsafe before. “I would just like to make people aware to be careful and to maybe have a friend pick them up.”

Marika had caught up with her sister and decided to take a taxi home. She claims that the driver “constantly” made sexual remarks during the brief trip.
Marika stated, “This was a driver I had previously, but this time he knew I lived at a different address.
“He started to make crazy comments.” When the taxi’s doors were closed, Marika says she was “petrified” and “didn’t know what to do”.

She further claimed that when she finally got out of the taxi, the driver lingered outside her home for several minutes. She said, “I locked the door as quickly as I could.
“I called the police right away because I did not feel safe at all. “He was hanging around in his taxi for about five to 10 minutes.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35pm on Saturday, officers received a report about a man’s behaviour in Dundee.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
Marika has also filed a complaint with the company that the driver worked for. A statement from the taxi company stated:
“As per the case you provided to us, we are doing our inquiry and will notify you in due time. “As for your information we have suspended the driver until our investigation is finished.”
