Train lines open again between East Sussex stations after report of fault.
Southern has announced that the train line between Crowborough and Uckfield has reopened this morning (Monday, December 1).
At 7.26am, Southern posted on X that “all lines are blocked between Crowborough and Uckfield due to a fault on a train.”
They clarified: “Services between these stations may be cancelled, revised, or delayed.” Southern said, “Your ticket will be accepted at no additional cost on the following bus routes:
“Brighton & Hove Regency 29A, 29B, and 29X connect Brighton, Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough, Eridge, and Tunbridge Wells.”“Brighton & Hove Regency 54 connects Eastbourne, Polegate, and Uckfield.
“Compass 261 connects Uckfield and East Grinstead. “Compass 31/31A/31B between Uckfield and Haywards Heath.” But the most recent update announced:
“The faulty train has now moved, and the line between Crowborough and Uckfield has reopened.” The notice continued:
“Ticket acceptance continues to be in place for alternative routes, but it may now be quicker to wait for the next train towards your destination.”
