Skipper of River Yare Broads wreck near Great Yarmouth fined.
A skipper of a boat that fell to the bottom of the River Yare has been penalised for sailing while under the influence and neglecting to notify anybody of the catastrophe.
Christopher Woods, from Shropshire, got into problems on his 66-foot cruiser while sailing between Great Yarmouth and Reedham.
On a chilly December day in 2024, his vessel, Tauri, sank while being transported near Polkey’s Mill, and he is thought to have swum to safety.
