Mountain Warehouse to close Dundee city centre shop ahead of retail park move.

The outdoor chain is exiting Murraygate. Mountain Warehouse is closing its Dundee city centre store as it prepares to relocate to Gallagher Retail Park.

The Murraygate business is advertising a “relocation” closing sale, and a To Let sign has been erected above the shopfront.

The closing date has not yet been announced. It comes as Mountain Warehouse prepares to launch a new location in the former M&S Foodhall at the retail park.

In November, the business received approval to demolish the unit through a building warrant application.

Mountain Warehouse closure is fresh blow for Dundee’s Murraygate

It is yet another setback for Dundee’s once-thriving Murraygate, following the closures of Keepsakes and Beaverbrooks earlier this year.

The Courier has compiled a list of all the empty shops on the failing street, as well as what plans they have for them.

In November, Dundee City Council unveiled more details about their intentions to revive the beleaguered Murraygate.

It comes after outdoor shop Regatta’s presence at the Overgate Shopping Centre was confirmed after Hotel Chocolat cancelled plans for a Dundee location.
