Aberdeen man locked up after admitting indecently messaging 20 different children

Aberdeen man locked up after admitting indecently messaging 20 different children.

Jack Penman, 21, was accused of humiliating and distressing his victims, all 13 to 15-year-old girls.

An Aberdeen man has been jailed after admitting to conversing indecently with 20 different females. Jack Penman, 21, was convicted of sending inappropriate texts to the minors, whom he believed were aged 13 to 15.

The offences occurred between December 2023 and August 2024, and one involved Penman contacting an undercover police officer posing as a child.

Indecent communication

The allegations allege that Penman “intentionally” communicated sexual communications to the 20 specified minors in order to receive sexual enjoyment or to embarrass, distress, or alarm them.

It goes on to say that the paedophile made sexual remarks towards them.

According to the indictment, Penman emailed images of himself to the police decoy, telling her he was enjoying himself and requesting that she send photos of herself. He also expressed his desire to participate in sexual activities with her.

Pled guilty to charges

Penman appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in February 2024 and pleaded guilty to a new allegation of creating obscene photos of children.

According to court documents, all of the acts occurred at one of two addresses: Wood Street in Aberdeen or Duns in Berwickshire.

Penman, whose address was listed as Seaton Walk in Aberdeen, acknowledged all 21 charges.

Sheriff Lesley Johnstone ordered Penman on remand, deferring sentence for reports until next month, in accordance with the Sex Offenders Register’s notification obligations.
