Alan Shearer and Troy Deeney are in complete agreement about Daniel Farke after Leeds v Wolves

Alan Shearer and Troy Deeney are in complete agreement about Daniel Farke after Leeds v Wolves.

Leeds quietly extended their impressive start to the Premier League season with a win at bottom side Wolves, moving them up to 12th in the league.

Leeds, who were widely expected to drop straight back down after being promoted last season, have already won two games against Everton and Wolves, as well as a draw at home to Newcastle.

A huge defeat at Arsenal was upsetting and underlined fans’ concerns about manager Daniel Farke, as was a painful 1-0 defeat at Fulham and a shambolic Carabao Cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

However, the turnaround at Wolves last week renewed confidence at Elland Road, with winnable fixtures coming up in the next seven games including clashes with Bournemouth, Burnley, West Ham, Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

Alan Shearer names Leeds boss Daniel Farke his Premier League manager of the week

Alan Shearer’s weekly Premier League ‘Team of the Week’ column included midfielder Anton Stach in his team for his goal against Wolves.

Shearer commented, “What a way to score your first Premier League goal! An stunning free-kick gave Leeds the lead, and then a great assist made it 3-1 in a massive win at Wolves.” And the league’s all-time leading scorer picked Daniel Farke his Manager of the Week after leading Leeds to a critical victory over Wolves.

“In what was a huge match against a team close to them in the table, Farke masterminded a superb 3-1 win against Wolves for Leeds’ first away win of the season,” according to Shearer.

Deeney, like Shearer, selected Farke Manager of the Week, admitting he ‘100% got it wrong’ with his pre-season predictions about Leeds.

Deeney stated, “[This is] probably the only time I’m going to give it to him.” I listed him as one of the managers that could be fired due to how last year concluded.

I have to admit that I got it completely incorrect. “Great away triumph vs Wolves after trailing 1-0. He’s got his Leeds team fighting and attempting to remain up.
