Anthony Gordon, a winger for Newcastle United, will not play in this weekend’s match against Brentford. The team has promised to communicate closely with England about Gordon’s availability for matches against Serbia and Albania. Gordon is a key member of Thomas Tuchel’s team, and the Three Lions have already guaranteed their spot in the World Cup next summer.

He still has the opportunity to add two more caps to his collection, though. For the two dead-rubber games, he is part of Tuchel’s 25-man squad. In a midweek match against Athletic Club, Gordon was substituted five minutes before halftime due to concerns about a possible recurrence of the hip injury he suffered when playing for England versus Albania at Wembley in March.

“We don’t think it is serious,” Howe stated during his press conference prior to the match against Brentford. We’ll scan him and check the results.

“We anticipate that he will be absent on Sunday. However, we’ll give him every chance.”

“I am relaxed about that it will be all done with England’s blessing and we will work together.”

Howe talked about Yoane Wissa’s recuperation as he gets ready to return from a protracted knee injury: “Yoane is working well, he is on the grass and building his fitness.” His acuity and level of fitness are being examined.
