Behrami insists Watford are not considering Chakvetadze sale.
When asked if there was any news to report on Giorgi Chakvetadze’s potential sale, Valon Behrami was emphatic: “Absolutely not”.
Reports in Georgia linked Chakvetadze with a move to Valencia this week, but the Watford Observer understands that the €10 million fee floated falls far short of the club’s valuation.
Behrami insists that no one at Watford is considering selling the Georgian, and that the club is instead focused on getting him fit so that he can start contributing right away.
The assistant sporting director stated, “Right now, all we want is for him to be healthy.” “He needs to return to play for us as soon as possible and fully fit.
“That is what we are thinking about right now.” Chakvetadze went to a specialist this week to learn more about the foot injury he is trying to recover from.
also confirmed that the timeframe set for his return earlier this month – a six-week layoff that could see him return in the middle of September – is still accurate.
He stated, “He has been to see a specialist abroad, and we now have all of the information we need to consider his return. “The injury has remained the same length of time.
We just wanted to take a closer look; it’s not uncommon to have several different perspectives on an injury.
“Giorgi wants the joy of returning to the pitch at 100%, not 99%. This is the most important thing right now, and we’re working towards it.”
