Blackburn Rovers v Ipswich Town: Latest update from EFL.
The EFL has disclosed the schedule for making and announcing a final decision following Saturday’s abandoned match between Ipswich Town and Blackburn Rovers.
Rovers were up 1-0 with Town down to ten men when referee Stephen Martin called the game off in the 80th minute.
Both clubs have since made proposals to the EFL Board, who will now determine whether to award Blackburn the victory, play the final ten minutes, or replay the game in its entirety.
Valerian Ismael, Blackburn’s manager, believes that giving Rovers the win is the fairest option, whilst Town has urged for a full replay.
In a Twitter message at 1pm today, EFL Communications stated that the Board will consider the topic ‘before the end of this week.’

The statement reads: “Following the cancellation of the Sky Bet Championship match between Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town, the two clubs were given a deadline of 4pm today to submit any final comments to the league.
“Once in receipt of the submissions, the matter will be discussed by the EFL Board before the end of this week, with the outcome to be confirmed shortly thereafter.”
