Both of Middlesbrough’s Easter fixtures picked for TV coverage in latest round of Sky picks.
Middlesbrough’s fixtures against Millwall and Swansea City have been scheduled for live broadcast on Sky Sports.
Middlesbrough’s two Easter weekend games have been rescheduled after Sky Sports chose to show them live.
Boro will host promotion rivals Millwall on Good Friday, with the game now starting at 12.30pm. Meanwhile, Boro’s Easter Monday trip to Swansea City will now begin at 5.30pm.
They are the latest Boro games to be switched to television, with Kim Hellberg’s side’s success resulting in significant scheduling disturbance for Boro fans, particularly for away games.
By the end of the Swansea game, Boro will have had eight consecutive games televised live on TV, with games against QPR, Charlton, Bristol City, and Blackburn also on Sky.
Boro are also in a unique situation in which a crucial promotion showdown with Ipswich Town represents the only prospective possibility for a Saturday 3pm away game in the second half of the season.
Boro has not played an away game in the Championship since the December 20 trip to Bristol City, which marked the start of the usual Saturday 3pm time slot.
Given the significance of the game, it appears unlikely that Ipswich will continue to play at 3 p.m.
Boro’s promotion rivals will also be aired on television over the Easter weekend. With no 3 p.m. blackout, Sky Sports can broadcast more games over the course of two days. Here is the complete list of broadcast picks for Easter weekend.
