Boy arrested over death of 13-year-old girl bailed.

A 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder and rape in connection with the death of a 13-year-old girl in Huddersfield has been granted conditional bail, according to police.

The ambulance service called officers to a flat on Sheepridge Road on Monday evening after receiving reports that the girl was unresponsive.

She was taken to the hospital and died in the early hours of Tuesday. A post-mortem examination conducted on Wednesday revealed that the girl’s death was unexplained, pending further investigation.

The boy, from Huddersfield, was also granted conditional bail in connection with the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl in a separate incident in Kirklees. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed that both incidents are still under investigation.

“Detectives are working to fully understand the circumstances of the girl’s death which is being treated as unexplained after a post mortem could not establish how she died,” they disclosed.
