Bristol City predicted team vs Stoke: Struber faces Riis and Armstrong call amid striker dilemma

Struber must deal with Riis and Armstrong’s call amid the striker conundrum in Bristol City’s projected squad against Stoke.

We’re back on the road in an instant. Bristol City will begin another hectic week of Championship action this afternoon when they travel to the Bet365 Stadium to play Stoke City in an attempt to win four straight games after having a blank midweek to celebrate, relax, and recuperate. Gerhard Struber and his team have so far benefited greatly from this series of games in between international breaks. The Robins have already advanced to fourth place in the league with an outstanding nine points from games against Norwich City, Southampton, and Birmingham City.
Although fans in and around BS3 are feeling more optimistic as a result, things won’t get much easier from here on out. They take on a Stoke team today that, under Mark Robins’ leadership, has been one of the second tier’s surprise packages thus far. The Potters are one spot and one point behind the Reds after 12 games going into this afternoon’s meeting. Only one team has defeated Mark Robins’ team on their home pitch, and no Championship team has given up less goals than Stoke have so far this season.

Struber will have nearly the same team to choose from as he had against the Blues last weekend, despite the week-long gap between games. When asked if players like Harry Cornick, Joe Williams, Jason Knight, and Max Bird would be prepared to return this weekend, the head coach simply said, “No.” Despite his insistence that these players are working hard to regain full health, Emil Riis, who was not risked against Chris Davies’ team the previous time out, is once again fit and ready for selection, according to the Reds camp, which was one encouraging bit of injury news before to the game. We’ll have to wait and watch if he is immediately pushed back into the fold.
