Feyenoord has now “cancelled” their attempt to sign Rav van den Berg, a central defender linked to Crystal Palace, from Middlesbrough, a championship team.
Feyenoord has been working extra hard to get Van den Berg to De Kuip since he became a wanted man in recent weeks.
Feyenoord anticipated losing David Hancko to Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League, but his transfer to the team fell through under dubious circumstances.
Feyenoord will not pursue their attempt to recruit Van den Berg from Middlesbrough, but Hancko may still depart.
The Dutch publication RTV Rijnmond claims that Feyenoord is signing two more defenders and that the swoop has been “cancelled.”
Feyenoord plans to bring Tsuyoshi Wantabe and Jordan Bos in at Van den Berg’s cost, and they are scheduled to have medical examinations at De Kuip later today.
Given their involvement in Van den Berg, Crystal Palace may benefit from the development.
