Carlisle interested in QPR’s Dixon-Bonner.
Carlisle United are among the clubs pursuing QPR midfielder Elijah Dixon-Bonner.
The 24-year-old has recently been on trial with League Two club Walsall, and they are expected to decide whether to sign him in the coming days.
There are numerous other interested parties, including Carlisle, which is managed by former QPR manager Mark Hughes and was relegated to the National League last season.
Hughes hopes to return the Cumbrians to the English Football League at the first attempt and wants Dixon-Bonner to join his squad.
Dixon-Bonner signed with QPR in October 2022 after leaving Liverpool. He was previously with Arsenal.
He has made 28 Championship appearances for Rangers, the majority of which have been as a substitute. He impressed at the end of the previous season and was thus offered a new contract in the summer of 2024.
However, he has since fallen down the pecking order, making only three league appearances last season, all of which came as a late substitute, and is now considered surplus to requirements.
