Celtic star tipped for EPL transfer as perfect fit named

Even if it wouldn’t be too horrible to end his career at Celtic, Alistair Johnston has acknowledged that playing in the Premier League would be an absolute dream.

Additionally, Kevin Kilbane believes the right-back is ready for the English Premier League, namely for one team.

Under David Moyes, the former Republic of Ireland player was a mainstay at Everton and believes the Scot would adore having Johnston on his team.

Kilbane wouldn’t be shocked to see the 26-year-old leave for the Premier League, whether it’s to Goodison or somewhere else.

Speaking about Johnston, who was recently featured on the Park the Bus Podcast, Kilbane stated: “I know we’ve had a chat with Alistair Johnston, and when we asked him where he sees his future, it’s definitely a season like this where that could be done, if something comes around in January.”

“You could observe it taking place. I might see him somewhere like Everton or something similar, even if it’s Nottingham Forest.

“We are aware of David Moyes’s coaching style and are confident that Alistair would provide the consistency that Moyes would value in a full-back.

“There are a lot of options available to you, but I personally hope he stays at Celtic and plays for the world’s biggest club.”

Johnston would consider remaining at Celtic for the remainder of his career to be a major accomplishment, just like Kilbane did.

However, he cannot completely rule out playing down south during that time.

Since none of those possibilities seem at all horrible to me, I believe it’s a pretty fantastic problem to have,” he remarked.

The fact that I was able to complete my career at Celtic indicates that I accomplished something incredibly successfully. For a club of this size to want to keep me in the building for so long, I must have done something good.

Simultaneously, I’m a player who has likely battled at times. Once I’m somewhat content, I settle in.

“I believe that’s why my game might occasionally lag a little bit because I rely so much on my athleticism and mental toughness, which can be so locked in that I enjoy being outside of my comfort zone at times. And that’s the thing that makes me feel my best.

“Yes, I believe that almost every player dreams of playing in the Premier League.

You can’t play at a higher level than this. Fortunately, though, I’ve had the opportunity to play in some really significant Champions League games during my time at Celtic.”
