City centre Chichester road to shut for eight weeks as major junction works begin.
Drivers in West Sussex risk two months of hardship as a main highway through the cathedral city is scheduled to close this October.

The traffic light junction at Southgate Link, at the junctions of Stockbridge Road and Basin Road, will be refurbished beginning Monday, September 22, 2025.
As part of the proposal, the A286 Stockbridge Road will be completely closed in both directions at the level crossing for the length of the construction.
A designated diversion route will be in place to assist traffic during the closure, while access to businesses and the train station parking lot will remain open.
