Coca-Cola truck arrives at Kingfisher pub in Ipswich.
The famed Coca-Cola truck stopped by an Ipswich pub, bringing Christmas early.
Following a visit to Avocet Court Care Home on Thursday, the iconic red car arrived at the Kingfisher pub on Hawthorn Drive in the early hours of Friday morning.
Craft Union, the owners of The Kingfisher on the Chantry estate, and local community leaders organised the Coca-Cola truck, which arrived between 12pm and 7pm.
Rachel Nield-Keeley, Craft Union’s regional manager, said: “It really feels like Christmas has come early; it is a fantastic thing for the community.
“We have been working hard to reintroduce the Kingfisher into the Chantry community by reopening it as a Craft Union pub, and I believe the [Coca-Cola] truck is the cherry on top.
“It has been really exciting, we put the bid in last year and [councillor Colin Smart] has really pointed me in the right direction.”

Colin Smart and Jenny Smith, community leaders from Ipswich Borough Council, helped plan the visit to the Kingfisher and arrived before the lines formed.
Mr Smart added, “It’s fantastic that the famous Coca-Cola truck has returned to Ipswich, this time in the heart of Chantry.”

“Children and families in the vicinity have been pleased to see the huge red truck, and it has undoubtedly signalled the beginning of the Christmas season for them.
“I am pleased to have contributed to the event’s success; Rachel approached councillor [Jenny] Smith and me with an urgent and confidential situation, and we assisted her in making the necessary contacts with the events team at Ipswich Borough Council, who handled it brilliantly despite the short notice.
This caps off a successful year for the Kingfisher, which has undergone refurbishment and welcomed excellent new management, and this well-deserved visit.”
