Colchester Council to debate Essex unitary council proposals.
COUNCILLORS will discuss significant reforms that might redefine how services are delivered in Essex.
On Tuesday, September 17, Colchester Council will hold a full council meeting to discuss emerging plans for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) in Essex.
The debate will focus on four possible models for establishing new unitary councils, each of which would alter the way services are delivered and administered.
David King, Colchester Council leader, stated, “This is a watershed moment for Colchester and Essex.
“Colchester did not seek Local Government Reorganisation due to the costs and disruption that these changes will cause.”
