Compass Travel Enviro400 pair are its first new double-deck buses

Compass Travel Enviro400 pair are its first new double-deck buses.

Operator expands on Enviro200s with fresh arrivals for college, rail replacement, and event work.

Compass Travel, another SME bus operator, chose the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 for its first new double-deckers, having received two of them. Each example is 11.5 meters long and has 85 seats, including a tip-up position in the wheelchair user bay.

The fit-out follows the manufacturer’s regular retail specification, which includes a radio/PA system, a tachograph, and belts on the high-backed seats.

The double-deckers join a 92-strong fleet that is already 90% drawn from Alexander Dennis’ Enviro200. Most recently, 11 of them were bought new in the spring and summer of 2025.

Compass Travel will use the Enviro400 pair to fulfil a contract with The Chichester College Group. They will also provide rail replacement and event services.

Speaking on the delivery, Director Michael Bishop says: “Our contract with The Chichester College Group, combined with a growing pipeline of commercial opportunities, has created the ideal platform for us to expand the fleet with our largest new buses to date.”

“We purchased numerous Enviro200 single-decks from Alexander Dennis, standardising our fleet and achieving an enviable level of operational reliability and consistency for our customers.”

Mr Taylor adds, “It is always a pleasure to work with Michael and the team, and to see their fantastic fleet grow – and it is a real honour to be here for the delivery of their first new high-capacity Enviro400 buses.”

“Compass Travel grows from strength to strength. We are grateful to be a part of the adventure, and we are extremely proud that the company continues to rely on Alexander Dennis for its new bus needs.”
