Coventry nursery where children are ‘eager to learn’ receives Ofsted praise.

Goslings Nursery maintained a ‘Good’ grade. Ofsted praised a Coventry nursery where youngsters make ‘excellent progress’ in their learning and are ‘keen’ to participate in activities.

Children are claimed to arrive at Goslings Nursery on Park Road in the city centre ‘happy’ and able to ‘confidently separate’ from their parents. Inspectors went at Goslings Nursery on Tuesday, July 8.

The childcare maintained a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in all categories. Staff are claimed to have high standards for children’s behaviour and to remind them of nursery regulations, such as using their walking feet indoors.

Staff also participate in the children’s play and are constantly available to help youngsters resolve minor disagreements.

Inspectors reported that smaller children are pleased when they participate in songs and rhymes, chuckle when they try different actions, and clap their hands when the song ends.

Older children in the nursery stay concentrated while building towers with construction toys, whereas pre-schoolers like experimenting with various containers and anticipating whether theirs will sink or float in the water.

Staff apply excellent teaching approaches and understand how children learn. They also get to know the kids well and utilise that knowledge to arrange enjoyable activities for them.

Children remain involved and motivated in their learning, allowing them to make good progress. Furthermore, carers effectively foster children’s communication and language skills, as discussion and chatter can be heard throughout the nursery.

Children like listening to well-read stories and are encouraged to participate with known phrases and predictions about what will happen next. This helps youngsters become confident communicators.
