A cyclist sustained “serious injuries” after being allegedly assaulted in a Leicestershire town. A single arrest has been made in relation with the event.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was riding along Mantle Lane in Coalville when the alleged attack occurred about 3.15pm on Monday, August 4. The cyclist was allegedly thrown off his bike by a rider on a scooter or motorcycle.
Police claimed the biker sustained “serious injuries” in the incident, necessitating hospital treatment.
According to authorities, an 18-year-old guy was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was eventually released on bond.
Investigations are ongoing into the incident, and in a statement made today (Thursday, September 4), police urged any other witnesses to come forward. Detective Constable Beth Marsh, the investigating officer, stated: “While someone has been arrested in connection with this event, I’m still asking anyone who can help to contact me.
“I’m eager to speak with anyone who has not yet contacted police, and I urge any motorists with dashcam evidence or who witnessed the event to come forward. Anything you may contribute could be beneficial.”
