Dan Burn’s red card in Newcastle United defeat given surprise verdict from Brentford star

Dan Burn was fired after Newcastle United’s 3-1 loss to Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

Another trip to the capital has resulted in another loss for Newcastle United.

Last week, the Magpies were defeated 3-1 at West Ham United and Brentford.

Newcastle’s first goal came from Harvey Barnes, but that was the Magpies’ best performance.

Brentford won all three points thanks to three goals in the second half, while Newcastle suffered again another defeat on the road.

When Dan Burn received his marching orders in the second half, Newcastle’s afternoon took a drastic turn.

When Burn seemed to have brought Dango Ouattara down within the box, he was already facing a yellow card.

Burn was fortunate to avoid punishment in that instance, but he was not as fortunate the next time, as Ouattara was defeated.

Burn received his second yellow card before Igor Thiago converted the penalty, and Howe’s failure to substitute him following that warning was genuinely puzzling.

According to Nathan Collins, a Bees defender, Burn’s red card was unfair.

Collins acknowledged in an interview with BBC Sport that he believed Ouattara’s first penalty incident to be more of a penalty than the second.

Collins felt that Burn’s booking for the second incident was “a bit soft.”

Collins won’t be complaining too much because Brentford won the game, but he thought Burn was treated unfairly.

Collins remarked, “I thought the first one was more contact, and then the second was a bit soft and for a second yellow was a bit soft.”

Dan Burn may no longer be included in the Newcastle United starting lineup.

After the international break, Burn will serve a one-game suspension, which means he won’t play Manchester City at home.

Burn may now lose his position at left-back as Lewis Hall is ready to take his place.

Burn wants to play center defense, but there is a lot of competition, including Fabian Schar, Sven Botman, and Malick Thiaw.

Burn has performed admirably at left back, but Hall is a more logical choice and will provide Newcastle with more opportunities in the future.

Burn is a reliable player for Newcastle when needed, but his red card might give Hall an opportunity to secure the left-back position for himself.
