Derelict Southall church in flames as 70 crew tackle blaze.

The decrepit King’s Hall Methodist Church in Southall was largely destroyed by fire last night (22).

At around 9.30 a.m., emergency services received more than 20 calls from members of the public reporting the fire.

The London Fire Brigade sent 10 fire engines and 70 crew members to the site on South Road from stations in Southall, Ealing, Heston, and beyond.

Flames devoured the majority of the ground level, second floor, and roof.People were advised to avoid the area, with South Road closed in both directions between Park Road and High Street.

As smoke billowed, nearby homes were instructed to close their windows and doors.The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire by 12.30 today morning, around three hours after the first calls were received.

However, personnel are likely to remain on the scene this morning to ensure the fire is totally extinguished.
