‘Deteriorating’ Bushey shop unit looks set to be sold off.
A Bushey High Street shop unit in “poor condition” is expected to be sold after renovations were deemed too expensive.
Next week, Hertsmere Borough Council’s cabinet is set to approve the sale of number 33a, which was previously home to Country Life Interiors.
According to the council officers’ study, it required “complete refurbishment” to be put back into service, and doing so on its own would not be good value.

“To do nothing would cause further deterioration of the property, thus increasing the cost of putting the premises back into beneficial use and leaving a prominent high street retail unit vacant for a further extended period.” Selling the property was so suggested.
“Extensive” marketing was used to obtain the greatest possible price, although the value of the best bid received has not been disclosed. Plan to demolish the home and replace it with a contemporary basement theatre.
A luxury flat inside the former Watford School has been put on the market. Watford police halt an Audi with a horrifically smashed windscreen.
Officers’ alternate rehabilitation plan would have required dividing the building into a ground-floor residential unit and a ground-floor shop space for a cost of £850,000.

Cabinet members will vote on the recommendations on Wednesday, September 10.
