Disorder involving inmates at HMP Norwich ‘peacefully resolved’.

Order has been restored at a Norfolk jail following a disturbance in which inmates engaged in a lengthy standoff with prison officers.

Trouble broke out at HMP Norwich on Thursday afternoon when a number of inmates refused to cooperate with officials.

According to a source, it was prompted by an inmate being denied a pen, but there are other underlying issues at the Mousehold jail, including a lack of food and clean clothes and bedding.
