Dundee want clarity from SFA over Falkirk penalty decision.
In the weekend loss against Falkirk, the Dark Blues were denied a penalty kick.
Dundee has asked the SFA to explain why they were not given a penalty in their weekend loss at Falkirk.
Connor Allan’s goal in the ninetieth minute gave the Dark Blues a 2-1 loss on Saturday.
But with a 1-0 lead in the first half, they were incensed that they were not given a spot kick.
Kyrell Wilson of Falkirk and Ethan Hamilton of Dundee both fell within the home box.
According to video, Hamilton received the ball before Wilson’s effort to clear it was unsuccessful and the former Manchester United player was caught.
Despite witnessing the challenge, referee Ross Hardie booked Hamilton for risky play.
VAR After watching the video, Andrew Dallas did not suggest an on-field review and instead upheld the referee’s initial ruling.
Stud marks
Bobby Madden, a former referee, called the VAR decision “astonishing.”
Dens manager Steven Pressley stated after the game, “I thought it looked like a penalty from the angle I’ve seen.”
“But to be completely certain, I’d need to view it from a different perspective.”
After reviewing the video, Dundee called the SFA on Monday to ask Willie Collum, the head of referees, for clarification over the incident.
The Dark Blues want to know why VAR did not step in because it is known that Hamilton has stud marks on the inside of his leg.
