The firm has operated in Dunstable for more than 60 years. companies range from individuals filing tax returns to buy-and-let landlords and single traders, as well as bigger corporate companies.

Chris Trevor currently runs the company, which was started in 1963 by Ken Stoten and Philip Gillam. He first joined the firm in 1995 as a trainee.

 

After earning his Chartered Accountant qualification, he joined a large international firm and earned his Chartered Tax Advisors designation.

With more experience, he returned to Stoten Gillam in 2002, taking over for Mr Gillam upon his retirement. Since 1980, the enterprise has operated from its current location at 99 High Street South, employing 14 locals, eight of whom hold professional qualifications. Chris says further, “Stoten Gillam is a training firm.

School-leavers are instructed to become qualified accountants. Currently helping four trainees through their training and exams, which take several years to complete.

The organisation takes pleasure in offering a personalised service. Customers are assigned a manager to ensure consistency in service.

Many managers have been with the company for 20 or more years. The entire team works from the Dunstable office, which has numerous conference rooms so customers can come in and discuss their accounts or tax difficulties in person.
