Eddie Howe awarded with high honour by Newcastle United at annual awards event

Eddie Howe received yet another significant honor from the Newcastle United Foundation on Tuesday during its annual Celebration Dinner event in the City.

A portion of the evening is devoted to inducting honorees into the Newcastle United Hall of Fame, even though the dinner’s primary purpose is to commemorate the accomplishments of local residents, who are subsequently given the opportunity to meet some of their Newcastle United heroes.

Eddie Howe was inducted into the Newcastle United Hall of Fame as part of the occasion, according to an announcement on the club’s official website.

John Anderson and the late Glenn Roeder were also inducted.

On Tuesday, Eddie Howe was admitted into the Newcastle United Hall of Fame.

Eddie Howe’s accomplishments throughout his four years with the club are demonstrated by the fact that he was honored while still holding his job.

After taking over in November 2021, Howe prevented the team from being demoted, and the next season, he led Newcastle back into the Champions League.

The club had a difficult time adjusting to the additional pressure of the Champions League the following season. However, last season, the Magpies not only qualified for the competition once more but also won the Carabao Cup at Wembley in March, their first domestic trophy in 70 years.

John Anderson and Glenn Roeder deserved to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Although Howe has accomplished so much more, that cup victory would have probably been sufficient to earn him a spot in the Hall of Fame. We hope that the Carabao Cup victory was only the start of a period of success for this outstanding team.

In the meanwhile, Glenn Roeder managed Newcastle from 2006 to 2007 after playing for the team from 1983 to 1989. Regretfully, Roeder battled a brain tumor for eighteen years before passing death in 2021 at the age of sixty-five.

Roeder’s teammate John Anderson, who played for the Magpies from 1982 to 1992, can currently be heard yelling into the microphone with Matthew Raisbeck during Newcastle games on BBC Radio Newcastle.
