He has since been released with an agreement to appear in court at a later date. Detective Superintendent Stevie Bertram called human trafficking “despicable” and encouraged anyone with knowledge to come forward.
He added: “Today’s activity is part of an ongoing endeavour to combat people who abuse vulnerable members of our communities for personal benefit. “Human trafficking is disgusting, and we are unrelenting in our commitment to discovering and prosecuting those involved.
“I would urge anyone who has any knowledge about where it is happening or who may be involved to get in touch with Police Scotland on 101 or information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
