Edinburgh set to be hit by snow and sleet this week – here’s exactly when according to latest forecast.
According to one weather forecaster, snow is expected to fall in Edinburgh this week, but another predicts that no snow will fall in the Capital anytime soon.
With temperatures in Edinburgh continuing to decrease, BBC Weather predicts snowfall later this week.
However, the Met Office predicts no snowfall in the Capital in the following days. The BBC Weather forecasts sleet in the city between midnight Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday.
Light rain will then fall until 4pm, when sleet is likely to return and fall until 9pm, when snow is projected to fall on Edinburgh into the night, with temperatures expected to be a frigid 1C but feel like -2. Sleet is forecast on Friday morning until 11 a.m., then drizzle will fall and continue throughout the day.
Sleet is expected to return from 9 p.m. and last into the night, with temperatures dropping to 2°C but feeling like -1°C. However, the Met Office does not expect any sleet or snow in Edinburgh this week. Wednesday is expected to be bright all day, with only a 5% chance of rain.
Although it does not agree with the BBC’s forecast of snow, it does predict freezing temperatures ranging from 3C to -1C.
The Met Office also predicts a sunny day on Thursday, with temperatures ranging from 3C to -2C. On Friday, it anticipates sunny intervals in the morning, cloud in the afternoon and evening, with a 40% chance of rain between 7pm and 11pm.
