According to an Edwards Coaches spokesperson, this £1.7 million investment joins five other new vehicles that will be introduced in 2025. “Each vehicle is branded to represent significant local routes 90, 100, and 400, making them identifiable as part of the Edwards network.

“In a nod to the nature of the local communities, each bus has a distinctive welcome message at the entry, with colloquial greetings from the regions served.

“For example, one proudly greets passengers with ‘Hiya Butt’ a familiar and friendly phrase from Rhondda Cynon Taff.” The buses have next-stop announcements, high-back seats with seatbelts, USB charging ports, and CCTV for passenger safety.

The most recent investment includes two Mercedes-Benz Tourismos for the tour fleet, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter EVM Cityline for Pontypridd services, a dual-branded Edwards National Express Caetano Levante 3A, and an executive 33-seater Ilesbus Glance.

Edwards Coaches was started in 1925 and has since grown to be Wales’ largest independent travel firm, providing coach holidays, tours, school transport, and local bus services.

The company is still family-owned after five generations. Edwards Coaches is well-known for integrating legacy, innovation, and community spirit when providing travel services.

The introduction of the new buses is part of the company’s overall centenary celebrations and continuous investment in modern, accessible, and comfortable transportation.
