According to documents given to the local authorities, the energy corporation intends to invest millions of dollars to transform their headquarters into a “modern, dynamic” workplace.

Why would it cost so much to kit out Aberdeen offices?

GB Energy unveiled a five-year strategy to aid the country’s transition to renewables, which will eventually power millions more homes.

The blueprint underlined the company’s intention to create more than 10,000 employment, with up to 300 headquartered in their Aberdeen headquarters.

The offices are scheduled to open later this year.

According to the paperwork, approximately £1.7 million in improvements will be necessary to prepare the premises for the move.

According to documents, the funds will be used to make numerous changes to the building’s fifth level, such as developing a new reception area and meeting spaces.

Some of the money will also be spent on mechanical and electrical projects.

We approached GB Energy to enquire why the refurbishment would cost so much, but they told they wouldn’t be able to comment during the election period.

GB Energy HQ will ‘boost city centre economy’

The offices will be leased and maintained by the Government Property Agency (GPA), which oversees the majority of the UK government’s office space.

Aberdeen City Council officials think that locating the publicly-owned enterprise in the heart of the city will benefit both the local economy and the region’s energy sector.

It comes as Scottish party leaders compete for votes in the north-east, focusing their election campaigns on the future of the North Sea industry.
