1. 9 Anchors, The Front, Seaton Carew
This former flower shop was transformed in 2017 and now boasts driftwood furniture and a bar constructed from a Welsh dresser.
This tiny micropub, named after the rescue of nine crewmen from the Danish schooner Doris, which sank off the coast in 1930, serves two regionally sourced rotating beers.

2. The Marine Hotel, The Front, Seaton Carew
This grade II-listed hotel serves two rotating regionally produced ales as well as good value lunches and a carvery in its freshly renovated dining area.

3. Camerons Brewery Tap & Bottle Shop, Waldon Street, Hartlepool
When Cameron’s Brewery found that it owned the adjacent dilapidated bar, its future was safe. Strongarm and the brewery’s specials are always available, along with a selection of limited edition and continental bottled beers.

4. Rat Race Ale House, Hartlepool Railway Station
This micropub is celebrating 16 years of Good Beer Guide certification and serves four rotating beers sourced from throughout the country. With no lager, spirits or bar area, this pub has served over 2,200 different beers since its inception in 2009.
