Fans flock to Brighton for Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Fans have flocked to Brighton for the “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to watch England face Australia on home soil in the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Nathan Elvery, who went from Epsom, Surrey, said, “I’ve been counting down to this moment, thinking, ‘This is going to be fantastic.'”

“You’re fortunate to be able to watch the World Cup in your own country, as well as the Red Roses. What a terrific occasion!”

Shelagh Burnhams of Newbury, Berkshire, remarked, “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” We are extremely fortunate to be here today.”

England leads their group after impressive wins over the United States in Sunderland and Samoa in Northampton, while Australia is second. Mr Elvery’s daughter, Jasmin, said: “It’s so amazing, especially because it’s women’s rugby.

I feel like this year it’s really, really taken off, and it’s fantastic that England is pushing it that way. “I used to play rugby and it’s just so exciting to see how much everybody else loves it as well.”

Sarah Fowler travelled from the Isle of Wight for the game. “It is tough for me to get to Northampton and other locations, so having one here was fantastic. “I couldn’t wait to be here,” she stated. “To have such a major event here in Brighton is simply wonderful.

“The atmosphere is excellent.” Tamsin Barber plays rugby in Australia with the Melbourne Rebels, and despite her English heritage, she supports some of her friends who play for the Wallaroos.

She went on: “I think England’s really brought it the world stage and I think its great to see the game elevating and continuing to grow.”

Barber went further: “Being English as well, it’s brilliant to see how much we can bring to the sport and how much we’ve grown it as well over here.”
