Five-bedroom HMO plans for Little Croft Street in Ipswich.
Plans to convert an Ipswich home into a five-bedroom house of multiple occupancy (HMO) will be reviewed by Ipswich Borough Council next week.
The initial application to convert 8 Little Croft Street into a six-bedroom HMO was rejected by borough councillors in August due to concerns that one of the bedrooms was inadequate.
Following the refusal, the plans were revised to lower the number of beds to five, and the application was recommended for approval. The initial plans included two bedrooms on the ground floor, two on the upper floor, and one in a loft conversion.
However, councillors objected to the loft bedroom, claiming that it was “too small to be classed as someone’s home”.
In response, the plans have been revised to remove the loft bedroom and replace it with additional living room space.
structure work began in 2021 to modify the structure to satisfy HMO rules, including an addition.
