Forbici: Hoardings go up as work starts to bring trendy new restaurant to Sheffield city centre.

Hoardings have gone up as construction begins on bringing a fashionable new restaurant to Sheffield’s city centre.

The boards have surfaced at St Paul’s Square, near the Winter Garden, where a disused office block is being turned into a Forbici branch.

Sheffield Council approved the change-of-use bid in late January.

According to plans lodged with Sheffield City Council for new signs, developers intend to create a local chain of the famed Manchester eatery Forbici in the former office.

The Manchester pizzeria has a 4.7 star rating on Google, and the website promises authentic Neapolitan cuisine.

The council is currently debating whether illuminated and projected signage will be authorised on the side of the planned eatery.

The restaurant will join the booming food scene in modern St Paul’s Square, which already includes restaurants such as Cosmo and Smoke BBQ.

It will, however, face stiff competition because it will be situated between three Italian restaurants: Pizza Express, Piccolino, and Bella Italia.
