Forensics officers at scene of Dundee incident as major police probe under way.

Byron Street and Kenmore Gardens have been sealed off following a fire on Friday morning. A significant investigation involving police forensics officers is underway in Dundee.

Cordons have been placed on Byron Street and nearby Kenmore Gardens, near the Law, following an emergency call on Friday morning.

Police and firefighters responded to “reports of a fire” shortly after 7 a.m. Since then, a substantial section of Byron Street between Brantwood Avenue and Lawton Road has been cordoned off.

White-suited forensics officers have been observed entering and exiting a residence, as well as inspecting the pavement and backyard.

CID police have gone door-to-door in the region.

A residence and a red car have also been sealed off on Kenmore Gardens, which can be accessible via a walkway off Byron Street, with crime scene investigators also searching the area.

So far, police have not provided any other information about the event. One man who has lived in the vicinity for five months claimed he was “shocked” to see the size of the cordon.

He claimed, “I just woke up to find the cordon and cops outside the address. We had not heard anything this morning. “I was shocked to see the size of the cordon.”

A 59-year-old man, who did not want to be identified, told The Courier: “I was phoned by a friend enquiring what was going on in my street because it was closed off around 7.30 a.m. “I looked out and saw two fire engines.

“Maybe at 9 a.m., there was a police sniffing dog in the garden where emergency services are located. “We’ve got no idea what’s happened, and the area remains taped off.”

A resident of Kenmore Gardens informed The Courier, “We were aware of the incident on Byron Street this morning.” “CID arrived to our home at 9 a.m. “They returned to the area and chatted with more residents in the afternoon.

“Scenes of crime officers have been taking pictures, and markers have been placed on the ground.”

Police called to ‘report of a fire’ on Byron Street

According to a statement from Police Scotland, Byron Street in Dundee is closed between Brantwood Avenue and Lawton Road due to a fire.

Emergency services are present. “Please avoid this location. Investigations are ongoing. The Courier has called the police for further information.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service reported receiving a call at 7.10 a.m. on Friday and originally sent two teams to the scene.

Firefighters spent almost two hours on the scene. A Scottish Ambulance Service representative stated, “We received a call at 7.25 a.m. to attend an incident on Byron Street in Dundee.

“Two ambulances and a special operations response team (SORT) were dispatched to the scene.”
