Former Watford striker Vakoun Bayo unveiled at Udinese.
Former Watford striker Vakoun Bayo has been unveiled at Udinese for the 2025/26 season.
The forward spent two years as a permanent Watford player before joining the Serie A club last summer, only to return to Vicarage Road on a temporary basis for the 2024/25 season. More: Wage demands rule out Ashley Young’s return to Watford this summer.
Bayo expressed a desire to play top-tier football at the time, and he now appears to be on track to do so with Gino Pozzo’s Italian club, with a contract that runs until 2028.
The Ivory Coast international scored 21 goals in 109 appearances for Watford and was the Hornets’ leading scorer last season with ten goals, four of which came in a 6-2 away win over Sheffield Wednesday in November.
Bayo joins other former Hornets at Udinese, including Christian Kabasele, Hassane Kamara, and Keinan Davis.
This summer, the Hornets revamped their attacking options, bringing Vivaldo Semedo in on a five-year deal and signing Luca Kjerrumgaard from OB (on loan from Udinese for work permit reasons).
