Free agent training with Sheffield Wednesday after Bradford City trial.
SWFC – Sheffield Wednesday have the opportunity to bring in some new faces in the coming weeks.
According to The Star, Jack Hunt is currently training with Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday has invited the defender back to Middlewood Road. On Sunday, SWFC lost 2-1 away to Leicester City to kick off the new 2025/26 Championship season.

Hunt, 34, has recently been on trial with League One newcomers Bradford City, according to Football League World. However, he was not offered a contract by the Bantams.
The Star reports that he has returned to the Owls to improve his fitness. He is unlikely to be re-signed by the South Yorkshire club at this time.
Hunt left Sheffield Wednesday in 2023. At the time, he wrote on Instagram, “Good morning owls.” After 5 years, two spells, and 180 games, my time at your special football club has come to an end.
All I want to say is thank you for welcoming me and my family from the moment I walked in the door. Fans are the heartbeat of any football club, and they will outlast any player.
You’ve given me some incredible memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Keep being the best, and I’ll see you all soon.

WHO WAS THE FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGERIAL DEPARTURE?

Sheffield Wednesday signed Hunt on a loan deal in 2015, which was later made permanent.
He appeared in 108 games for SWFC during his first season at Hillsborough. The right-back returned in 2021, after the club was demoted to League One. He later assisted them in being promoted back to the second tier under ex-manager Darren Moore.

Hunt’s previous clubs include Huddersfield Town, Crystal Palace, Barnsley, Rotherham United, Bristol City, and Bristol Rovers. The latter parted ways with him in late June, and he remains a free agent.

What now for Sheffield Wednesday?
Sheffield Wednesday need to get some people through the door. SWFC’s roster is extremely thin and lacks depth.
The Owls put on a defiant performance against Leicester City, taking the lead at the King Power Stadium thanks to Nathaniel Chalobah. However, the Foxes came back in the second half to win, despite Barry Bannan being sent off.
Henrik Pedersen’s side return to action on Tuesday night, travelling to the North West to face Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup. They then face Stoke City at home this weekend, looking for their first win of the season.
