Fulham man approached in ‘late’ transfer move by Leeds United before the deadline.
Fulham have till the end of the window for Marco Silva to freshen up their roster. Fulham has until the deadline of 7pm to complete any incoming or leaving business.
The London club has had a slow summer in terms of player transfers. However, they are expecting a busy finale to the window on the last day. The Whites have collected two points from their first three Premier League games.
They drew their first two games against Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester United. Marco Silva’s side were defeated 2-0 by Chelsea last time out and will look to rebound following the September international break.
Fulham attacker Harry Wilson wanted by Leeds United.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are considering a ‘late’ move for Fulham attacker Harry Wilson.
The Whites were promoted from the Championship in the previous campaign.
They won the league title under Daniel Farke and were promoted alongside Burnley and Sunderland. Wilson, 28, will be out of contract at the end of this term.
The Whites risk losing him for free in June 2026 if they do not cash in on him now or in January, presuming he does not sign an extension in the interim. He has recently shown to be a valuable asset for Silva.
The Wales international, who has 62 caps for his country, joined Craven Cottage on loan in 2021 before being made permanent. He helped his current club reach the top flight in 2022.
The forward has made 295 appearances across all competitions, scoring 25 goals. Wilson progressed through Liverpool’s academy ranks and became a fixture for the Reds at various youth levels at Anfield.
He went on to play for the Merseyside giants twice. They loaned him out to Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County, AFC Bournemouth, and Cardiff City to get playing experience.
Farke, who has been linked with Fulham’s Wilson, has recently hinted that he wants more players to come through Elland Road. The Yorkshire club’s most recent match ended in a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United.
They have scored one goal in their first three games. Farke has stated: “We make no secret of the fact that in order to be prepared for a lengthy, difficult season, we obviously need a few more quality choices up front, and we are working hard to achieve that. We just need to look at what the other teams are doing.
Newcastle is the best example, of course; we cannot compete with the Champions League team after what they have done this week.
“You look at their bench (Newcastle), what talent is sitting outside, what they could put into the game, and what they still have in the ranks. To be competitive and have a chance of surviving in the top league in the world, we need to improve our offence, which is what we are attempting to accomplish. We’ll see what happens in the next days.
