Hartlepool teenager charged with murdering 49-year-old David Cuthbert in Stockton

A Hartlepool man is one of three teenagers to have been charged with murder.
The 18-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear before magistrates on Tuesday, January 13, in connection with the death of David Cuthbert, age 49.
Cleveland Police said in a statement: “The guys, two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, were detained on Saturday, January 10, on suspicion of murder.
“On Monday, 12 January, after questioning in detention, police from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) charged them all with murder.

“All three men have been remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 13.
“It relates to cops being called to a residence on Egglescliffe Close in Stockton, where a 49-year-old man tragically died.
“His family is being supported by specially trained officers from the investigation team.”
Two 17-year-old male juveniles who were also arrested on suspicion of murder were later released on conditional bail.
Mr Cuthbert’s family has paid tribute to him, stating that “all our hearts are broken”.
The police made a statement on their behalf, saying: “David was a kind, caring, entertaining man with a heart of gold.
“Always smiling and making others laugh, he could instantly brighten up a room.
“David was beloved by many and would go to any length to help anyone.
“We as a family are extremely grateful for the love and support we have received. And I’m especially grateful to the Cleveland police.
“All of our hearts are broken. We all adore you very much, David.”
