Hearts’ Landry Kabore creates more history with Burkina Faso.
Landry Kabore of Heart of Midlothian has made history once more, scoring a hat-trick in two consecutive international meetings.
The Burkina Faso striker scored three goals to help his country overcome Niger 3-2 in a friendly match on Friday night. Kabore earlier scored three goals in a World Cup qualifying match against Ethiopia last month.
This was the first time a Hearts player had scored a senior international hat trick. When he returned to Oriam, his Hearts teammates welcomed him with cheers.
It happened just days after James Wilson scored a hat-trick for Scotland’s under-21s against Gibraltar. Kabore repeated the feat in his next international match.
Between those hat-tricks, Kabore scored his first two Hearts goals in a 4-0 victory over Dundee, taking his tally to eight goals in his last four starts for club and country.
Burkina Faso will now play Benin in another friendly on Tuesday ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins at the end of this year.
The West African country has been placed in Group E, alongside Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan.
