Hibs agree compensation for ‘exciting young Scottish talent’ as tribunal avoided.

Both teams are’satisfied‘ with the conclusion of talks, since the fee has been agreed upon.

Hibernian have reached an agreement with Dundee on a compensation package for the transfer of Josh Mulligan.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who can also play wing-back, joined the Easter Road club during the summer transfer window after his contract with the Dark Blues expired.

Mulligan has established himself in David Gray’s starting lineup, with outstanding performances earning him his first call-up to the senior Scotland side ahead of last month’s World Cup qualifier against Belarus.

Dundee were entitled to a compensation payment from Hibs for a player produced through their academy since the age of eight.

The agreed-upon cost, which is in the six-figure range, avoids the need for an SFA tribunal. Hibs sporting director Malky Mackay stated, “Josh is a promising young Scottish prospect, and we have been happy with his progress since his arrival this summer.

We look forward to seeing him continue to improve his game. We’d also want to congratulate Dundee for the cordial negotiations and successful outcome.”

Mulligan has three goals in 20 games since joining Hibs, after making 123 appearances for his hometown club and scoring six times.

A Dundee statement added: “Both clubs have worked constructively to reach a settlement that reflects Dundee’s significant investment – in time and coach development – to help Josh establish himself in the Scottish Premiership.” “Whilst the terms of the agreement remain confidential, both sides are satisfied with the outcome.”

Dundee also lost out-of-contract midfielder Lyall Cameron to Rangers this summer, but no agreement has been reached with the Ibrox club over compensation for the 23-year-old.
